There is a large fig growing out of the cliffs that form the edge of the
Castle rock in Nottingham - likely to have rooted from a seed in a turd
dropping from a garde-robe in the castle.... lie the one in your photo (but
much larger) it is mostly pendulous

Sounds interesting. Funnily enough, I came across a what looked like a Fig
growing out of a hill on the Fife Cost, near Dysart; just below Ravenscraig
Castle. It seems to be dangling down the slope of the cliff without making
much effort to grow up. Might be the remnant of one of the laird's feasts?
