Hi Will,

You may be right, but my 'successful' tree, which was a small 5l pot
specimen, was planted in really rubbish site conditions and has most
likely been subjected to some fairly questionable pruning
practices/care, possibly even including de-icing salt on the paved
entrance to the church. Its position west of the building though has
always always protected it from those early morning rays...
